During the past three years Dr. Saeed Pahlevansharif’s research output has been remarkable and he won Taylor’s University vice chancellor’s research award in 2017. Recently, the Embassy of Iran selected 36 Iranian research active academics who won a research medal/award in 2016 and 2017 from across the spectrum of Malaysian universities – such as UPM, UM, UTM and UKM. From this pool of short-listed candidates, the Scientific Counsellor of Iran in East Asia panel of examiners selected a total of five researchers based on their contributions for a special prize. Dr. Saeed was the only one from a private university, to receive such an award. The Medalist Award 2016-2017 was presented to him by the Iranian Ambassador to Malaysia, Mrs Marzieh Afkham, for his contribution to public health. In particular, this was because his models and methodology have made a significant impact to the wider community. Dr. Saeed said that, “I was very pleased to have the contribution that my research has made recognised in this way”.
